Privacy policy
Trading Arena Rclone is a desktop utility operated for personal market-data research and research backups. It connects to an authorised Google Drive account using the open-source rclone file-transfer tool. This public website provides information about the utility; it does not itself connect to Google Drive or request OAuth credentials.
1. Data accessed
After the account owner grants permission through Google's OAuth screen, the desktop tool may request Google Drive file metadata and file contents needed for research file transfers. Examples include filenames, folder identifiers, file sizes, checksums and files stored in the dedicated Trading Arena folders.
Scope clarification: Google's general Drive OAuth permission can technically allow rclone to access other files in the authorised Google Drive account. Operational use is intended to be restricted to the owner-designated Trading Arena folder. This restriction is an operational practice, not a Google-enforced per-folder permission boundary.
2. Purpose and use
- Upload, retrieve and organise approved public historical market-data archives.
- Compare checksums and maintain verification manifests for source integrity.
- Back up selected locally produced simulation snapshots, research results and reports.
- Recover those research files when the owner requests or configures a restore.
Google Drive account data is not used for advertising, profiling, resale or training general-purpose AI models. The utility is not authorised to trade real money.
3. Where information is stored
Research files remain in the Google Drive account authorised by the owner and/or on their local computer. Google processes Drive data as the storage provider. The OAuth access and refresh tokens are held in rclone's local configuration on the owner's computer, not on this public website or within its HTML. The operator is responsible for protecting that configuration and computer.
This information-only website is hosted on Vercel, which may process ordinary web-request and security logs for website delivery. The website has no application login, forms, analytics scripts, advertising trackers or application-set cookies.
4. Sharing and disclosure
Trading Arena Rclone does not sell Google user data or intentionally disclose it to third-party marketers. Google Drive handles authorised file storage and rclone communicates with Google Drive to carry out file transfers. Website hosting is provided by Vercel; no Google OAuth token or Drive file data is intentionally transferred to the website.
5. Retention and deletion
Research files are retained in the operator's Google Drive or local storage until the operator deletes them. The owner can remove files in Google Drive and revoke this OAuth connection from their Google Account's third-party access settings. Local rclone OAuth tokens may also be deleted from the local rclone configuration. Revoking access stops future API activity but does not automatically delete previously stored files or backups.
6. Security
OAuth authorisation uses Google's sign-in flow in the owner's browser. The website does not accept account passwords or secrets. Research workflows are designed to use bounded transfers, checksum verification and locally protected credential files. Internet services carry inherent security risks, and no absolute guarantee is made.
7. Updates
This policy may be updated to reflect changes in the utility's actual data use or Google requirements. Material changes should be made before corresponding data practices change; the effective date will be revised.
8. Contact
Questions about this utility or its data use can be sent to the Google OAuth application support contact: agyein26@gmail.com.
